Position Summary

The Senior Director – Russia will lead and develop the in-market team delivering consulting support and projects to VISA's key clients across the Russia market to help optimize clients' payment cards portfolio performance, thereby ensuring that Visa is both their preferred brand and a unique business/marketing partner. They will personally lead major projects as well as supporting more junior team members across a portfolio of projects and clients, and liaising with the Head of Consulting CEMEA to plan future projects and resourcing.


Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Area
Coach and lead the in-market team of Russia consultants in delivering client projects across the Russia region
Working closely with Russia Business Development and Product, develop a pipeline of client opportunities across the Russia region and work with the Head of Consulting CEMEA to deploy regional and hub resources to meet specific client needs.
Lead and coach the Russia consulting team in using VISA and external data, analyze client needs across the focus markets and identify opportunities for Consulting assignments with key Russia Clients.
Work with the CEMEA Hub team to develop and deploy Consulting global solutions across the target client groups
Work with the head of Russia to support Consulting elements required to deliver the Russia growth strategy
Deploy and support projects across CEMEA where required, depending on the level of demand from the Russia market (based on agreement with head of Consulting and Russia country head)
In coordination with Country Managers and Account Executives, develop Country plans for Consulting activity with key Russia clients, securing funds from partnership agreements to support Consulting projects where such agreements exist.
Develop project pitches and in coordination with Account Executives, secure new Consulting assignments with clients, as well as "re-engagements opportunities" via a consultative sales approach in assigned markets.
Support the wider Russia team and take a lead role in delivery of Consulting projects. Resolve complex strategic problems. Synthesize and manage complex project structures when required. Manage, facilitate and implement consulting services and meet client's business targets (assignment objectives, project scope, budget, paperwork, external consultants' supervision and project delivery). Work closely with other VISA groups, including Product, Marketing etc., to ensure a seamless client Consulting experience in the countries of focus.
Develop and deliver client training programs and impart best practices knowledge sharing to VISA clients.
Actively contribute to the thought leadership agenda for Visa Consulting and participate in industry forums and keynote addresses at Visa and external conferences as a recognized industry expert.
Where appropriate, work with designated practice areas global Consulting groups to incorporate best practice, source analytical or other services and leverage global consulting solutions.
In conjunction with the Head of Consulting CEMEA, deliver and manage a network of external Consultants for the projects that require external consultant support and:
a. Maintain excellent liaison and supervision of external consultants' deliveries.
b. Assist in selecting, recruiting, inducting and training new external consulting firms.
c. Work with other teams and external consultants to develop new and improved tools and techniques for future consulting activities.
Manage the VISA Consulting budget and resources to perform all required duties.
Liaise with VISA functional teams (Finance, Audit, Legal, Tax, Sourcing) to define and implement processes to optimize the daily engagement of vendors and the relationships with clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
At least twelve years of relevant experience. Preferably, card portfolio management and analytical experience within the card business of top-tier bank, or the financial services practice of a reputable consulting firm, with deep exposure to consumer card projects and proven track record. A combination of local/regional and global experience strongly desired.
Deep consulting skills and client engagement capabilities. Advanced client contact and presentation skills. Credibility with clients and working teams and diplomatic skills to extract desired outcomes. Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management of clients and VISA.
Highly analytical with advanced PowerPoint skills and Excel skills. Ability to work with database software.
Superior project management skills. Avid communicator.
Results driven, flexible and both internally and externally customer focused.
Able to travel frequently across CEMEA.
Knowledge of VISA's card products and systems process flows. Ability to work with data warehouse tools and knowledge of internal VISA operations strongly desired.
Self-motivated and able to use own initiative and work with limited direction.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with inter-disciplinary groups.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Fluency in Russian and English.
