Job Description
The Senior Resource Geologist will ensure that corporate and market resource and reserve reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner. They will liaise with geologists involved in GKZ reporting to enhance efficiency in executing the dual reporting process, in order to bridge the gap between NI 43-101 and GKZ reporting systems. The Senior Resource Geologist will share the direction of the geology program at a 3000 TPD gold mine. As a senior member of the geology team, you will act as a mentor and role model to less experienced geologists. You will also have extensive experience in resource geology specific to gold which will enable you to provide expert technical advice and recommendations to engineers for planning purposes.
This position is based at our Kupol Operation in the Chukotka.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
1. Complete statutory and corporate reporting as required:
Assists with the consolidation of the company’s resource and reserve estimates at the mine and corporate level
Has responsibility for compliance with respect to mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates
Provides geological and resource modeling support for Kupol operations
Participates in due diligence reviews and compilation of engineering studies
Assists in establishing processes related to geology and resource modeling
Participates in Life of Mine and Strategic Business Plan reporting as required
Compiles and distributes weekly and monthly reports as well as regular reconciliation reports
Provides geological input and consults with Mine Engineering staff regarding mine design
2. Acts as a member of the mine geology team:
Participates in specification and ordering of parts and equipment as necessary for the geology and drilling functions at Kupol using inventory and ordering systems in place
Assists in general mine geology activities as appropriate
Provides input into budgets and operating plans as required
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or higher
- Previous work experience using Micromine 3D modeling software or similar software package
- Over 5 years of mining related experience as an operator and / or consultant
- Geological and resource modeling experience
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills in Russian and English
- Eligibility to work in Russia is essential
- Qualified Person under Canadian NI 43-101 regulations or the ability to become one
- Additional specialized education of up to 2 years including masters level degree or equivalent is an asset
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organizational, technical and analytical skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations
- Good working knowledge and skill with AutoCAD and proficiency with MS Office
- Preference will be given to candidates with Russian citizenship
